Situated on a scenic ridge, Kawela Plantations spans 6000 acres of former Molokai Ranch agricultural land and showcases 210 spacious 1-acre residential lots. The development presented the challenge of bringing roads along an undeveloped mountainside to an elevation of approximately 200 feet. Working with a team of sub-consultants, CP&E designed the dual private water systems, including source wells and reservoirs, as well as the roads connecting the subdivision to the main highway along the coast. For wastewater disposal, an innovative transpiration system was designed to eliminate contamination of the underlying potable water source.
