Managers Drive spans the H-1 freeway, connecting the master-planned community of Waikele to Waipahu.  As a former cane haul road, the overpass was once only two lanes wide.  To conform to City standards it was widened, creating two additional lanes.  Working with structural sub-consultants, CP&E oversaw the design and construction of the new overpass.  The clearance required over the freeway posed a challenge, so our team responded by designing a narrower, structurally sound overpass.  Unable to use scaffolding on the freeway during construction, this obstacle was overcome by dropping in pre-stressed concrete girders.
