The master-planned community of Waikele features over 3,000 residential units, an 18-hole golf course, recreational parks, and commercial spaces. CP&E was responsible for the master-planning and engineering of this 350-acre community including water, wastewater, drainage, roads, and mass-grading. Particularly challenging was the design of a drainage system which required tolerance for a 100-year storm event. CP&E's innovative solution routed flow through the golf course into Waikele Stream via a 95-foot spillway. In addition, we redesigned the existing irrigation system to capture a portion of the storm-water runoff to be recycled back to reservoirs at higher elevations.
